Today it has been announced that, from October, Bexley’s waste and recycling collections, gully cleansing, street cleaning and winter maintenance work will be undertaken in a partnership between Bexley’s Conservative Council and Countrystyle Recycling.
The new partnership will also see substantially more money invested in these key services.
Countrystyle already work in Bexley, managing the Borough’s waste and recycling depots in Crayford and Sidcup.
Cllr Peter Craske, Conservative Cabinet Member for Places, said:
“This is a major announcement, and our new partnership will bring many benefits for residents and the Borough. Countrystyle is a young business, with great ambitions for the future. This new era means more funding for these frontline council services, and a better service for residents.
“One of the reasons Bexley is one of the country’s top rated Councils is that we never just sit back and rest on our laurels. We always see how we can do better and how we can deliver better services for the only people who matter – the residents of our amazing Borough.”
The new contract comes into effect from October. Countrystyle Recycling has already been working with Bexley’s Council, driving up recycling rates to record levels. Bexley has been the number one Borough in London for recycling for 16 years in a row.
