I have been married to my husband Peter for 31 years; we have 5 children, 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Having run our business together for 40 years we retired in late 2016. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, eating out and going to the theatre, especially musicals.
I have had the privilege of being the Mayoress of Bexley since May 2017. This experience has highlighted the work of the volunteer sector as well as the needs of the residents in the borough, especially the elderly and those with learning difficulties.
With more time now available it is my intention to make it a priority to do my utmost to follow through strategies put in place which will both assist and enhance residents’ lives; to discover what the residents need and how to address those needs in the best way possible.
I’ve lived in Bexley throughout my entire life, growing up in Belvedere and attending Trinity School there as well. I’ve been active in the community for some years now and, whilst taking a break to attend university, I am looking forward to continuing this work in the future. Working in the IT sector, I am a keen tech enthusiast and love seeing the new ways in which it can help people in their day to day lives.
