Thamesmead East

Elzbieta Boryslawska

I came to the UK from Poland in 2010 and now live in Thamesmead which I love for its sense of community and, if elected, I will work hard to improve it further so that our neighbourhood is friendly, clean and a safe place to live.

I have a Master’s Degree in Finance and Management that I obtained as a mature student and enjoy working with different groups of people to create new ideas and plans and am excited about the possibility of doing that as a Bexley Councillor.

I have an active life style and enjoy both reading and swimming, and am very proud that I had worked as a volunteer at both the London Olympics and Paralympics in 2012. It was as fantastic experience!

I look forward to having the honour to represent Thamesmead East residents as one of their ward Councillors.

Mark Brooks

Having been brought up in Belvedere where I still live, I have always campaigned to ensure the voices of the law-abiding silent majority in the north of the Bexley Borough are heard. This includes being tough on crime, making sure our schools are the best for our children and supporting local jobs and companies. Ensuring people and their families have the chance to better themselves is key to everything I believe in – something that Labour in Thamesmead do not support.

Professionally I work for a charity and as a volunteer I am chair of a national charity supporting male victims of domestic abuse. I am also a national ambassador for International Men’s Day – making sure issues such as poor exams results for boys, high rates of suicide and male homelessness are addressed. I am a campaigner who can be counted to speak up for those who need support.

I am a determined and motivated person with a passion for Community development, education and equality. Have an outgoing and friendly personality; enjoy meeting new people and making a real difference in people’s lives. Been an Active Part of Conservative party from Wandsworth to Bexley for more than eighteen years.

My role at the University tasked me to representing many people from different countries and localities. Working daily to address different people’s needs, complaints and problems at the same time researching NEW Technological improvements, and NEW way to apply them to better people’s lives.

I have a diversified educational background, with a PhD in Architecture and Construction Technologies, an MSc in Project Management along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Lithographic Circuit Print Technology and a BA in Development Economics, lectured at the University of Greenwich IDC and internationally as a visiting Lecturer.
